We’d like to introduce you to our new awesome intern, Gabrielle Dennis. Gabrielle is originally from Banning, California, but her family has lived in Australia since 2005. She’s a senior Health Communication major, Pre-Dentistry and Honors student at Pacific Union College in California. Gabrielle says she became interested in Health Communication through her interest in dentistry. She’s also an avid horseback rider, runner, and currently the women’s captain of Pacific Union College’s Cross Country team. We asked her a couple questions.
What interests you about Clínica Verde?
Clínica Verde represents an opportunity to become involved with an organization that is changing how healthcare is provided and approached in a very positive way. I am very excited to be a part of such a patient-centered, holistic healthcare organization.
Is there a personal healthcare story in your life that drew you to the field?
Many of my family members are healthcare providers of various types, but I would say my most influential healthcare story would be that of my birth: I was born premature at Loma Linda University Medical Center at 29 weeks, and 2 lbs. 8oz. Without the doctors and nurses at LLUMC I would have died, and I grew up admiring the doctors and nurses who saved me. I’m excited to become a healthcare provider myself in the future, and to be able to intern with an organization that is impacting so many lives.
